FIRST Lego League

Yancey Robotics 2023-2024

FIRST Lego League (FLL): For ages 9-14.  The FLL program consists of three different areas: robotics, core values, and project.  The challenge will come out the beginning of August and the groups will have roughly ten weeks to put together all three areas for completion.   This group be working on the project and core values part of the challenge, Cargo Connect.  This group will compete in the Regional Competition in November for a chance to attend the State Tournament in January.  We intend to take our program out to the schools for demonstrations following the Regional Competition.

Program Cost: $30/student

Welcome to Yancey County Robotics.  The following robotics programs will be offered this year.  Meetings will be held at Quilt-N-Code behind McDonalds.  Registration costs are $30 per child per program and include a T-shirt.  Additional costs could include transportation and food for competitions, hotel rooms, and other unforeseen costs. We will do fundraising to help the team if necessary and we do everything we can to make Legos affordable for everyone!  We are a non-profit and donations and sponsorships are greatly appreciated.

Important:   We have never intended that this be a drop off program.  Please stay as often as you can and play with your children.  We understand that there are times when this is not possible and we would never stop a child from participating because of that, but we don’t get paid for any of these programs and can always use all the help we can get!
